Google Summer of Code 2010

Google summer of code 2010 is on and tomorrow it's the deadline. It has been a long journey for me. Last year I just missed it, I was quite fascinated by drupal and started reading its code base. but it was too late :P. Since then I am using and developing in drupal.

I will be applying only for drupal as I know it is the right thing for me :)
Well, my idea is to develop a bookkeeping support in drupal. I love structured things and drupal gives me that feel. It's entity base and permission layer is awesome. I have written a small bookkeping code in scratch php, but it is not that good. I am planning something modular and full fledged solution with drupal this year. My intention is to write core bookkeeping stuffs with potential integration from commerce projects and then developing extensions for it. Initially I was thinking about Drupal 6 but after discussion on irc, when I followed the development track of Drupal 7, I realized it's quite better to write such project having enough entity concern in D7. It would be a great experience for me to get introduced in drupal community through this year Google Summer of code.

And of course thanx a ton to Google for organizing such a great event. It's not an annual occasion now, it's about a community thing now. Love you google.
